Every summer I think up a bunch of fun learning activities to keep things going with the kids. And for the most part these plans usually fizzle out and we wind up not doing much. (Which is fun, too!) This year, we've been keeping to "the plan" a little better. One such plan was for a little (tiny, actually) summer vegetable garden. Emily decided to take on this project as part of a goal for her personal progress at church. She has done a terrific job planting and tending for her garden. She is keeping a garden journal so she can keep track of what works and what doesn't. She had a big harvest just before leaving for girl's camp this week--lettuce, tomato, and carrots. Ally got into the act, too, and cleaned the veggies so we could all enjoy a snack. Way to work together girls!! Yummy!
