We had a fun Friday in Seattle with lots friends while the Bass family visited from Tennessee. Rozanne had many left over City Passes from her family reunion so we set out to visit a place they hadn't--The Experience Music Project (also know as the
EMP or the really odd looking building at the Seattle Center!! :) ) Our families were joined by Susan and her girls and Nikki and her kids and all of us locals had our kids skipping school for the day--can you believe it?! Pretty easy to justify, really, and it was Trevor's birthday to boot!! We had a blast trying out instruments and seeing all the sights at the music museum--Trevor and Jackson already thought they were rock stars (playing
RockBand) and this just cemented it. It was great but the worst part was--no picture taking!! Eek!! For me though, there was an unexpected highlight in the attached Science Fiction Museum which was featuring a traveling exhibit about Jim Henson (
Muppets). I have always been a fan of his work and it was a treat to see his
sketches, some real
muppets, and other "artifacts" from his collection. There was an interactive
muppet show that all the kids got to participate in performing a classic
muppet tune with replica
muppets made just for this venue. It was great!!! And even better--pictures were allowed!! Yeah! But the best part was spending time with good friends--those we miss dearly, those we are about to, and then the rest of us-the left behind!! Thanks for the fun day and the great memories!

It was a blast...thanks for being a rebel and letting the kids skip school. It certainly made it a lot more fun for the kids with their friends. And thanks a MILLION for letting us stay with you. You made us all feel right at home and we appreciated your hospitality SO much!
